We drove through misty mountain and wildflower strewn views to our destination. We found a staircase down to the beach ending in rocks leading to the ocean. Climbing carefully, we began our search of the tidepools nestled amongst most of these rocks.
the nearby Dream Playground for the boys to run off some more energy. This is a large playground--lots of fun with plenty of slides, swings, playhouses and places to climb and explore. They loved it! We pulled them away to walk up and down the streets of the historic shopping district of Port Angeles. We had seen some interesting shops in our travels, and wanted to check them out. The favorite was Odyssey Books and Gifts--a shop we could have spent hours in! There was a play area in the back room for the kids--nearby books that I wanted to look at--perfect! We found books, toys, cards and gifts that we all loved! It was nice to find locally made items, as well. It is a big shop--with used books in addition to the new ones. Wish we had a store like this at home!
We headed back to our little house for an early night and plan to spend our last day in Washington in Seattle. I will write up more details of the entire trip soon--in hopes it may be useful to other families planning a trip to this area.
