This weekend, we were given the surprise gift of a cool Saturday morning. We decided to make good use of this Summer rarity, and jumped in the car by 7:00ish to head to one of our favorite places--Radnor Lake. This beautiful park is a very special one to us--one we have been visiting for years for peace and exercise. We had not been since the big flood damaged a large part of the park some weeks ago. It is healing quickly, and was as lush and gorgeous as ever.
This was also somewhat of a trial run for G. We wondered how he could handle walking the trails in the woods. We are hoping to take a Pacific Northwest trip next month--one with hikes in the woods there. We wondered how realistic this would be with a two year old that is too heavy to carry for long distances, but maybe not quite big enough to take a long walk by himself. We found that he was quite delighted by our walk. He tried to keep up with his brother, and walked or ran for most of an hour by himself. He only wanted to be carried at the tail end of the walk. We are making our vacation plans with an easy mind now!
