It's been quiet around here lately, I know. But, that is because there has been so much going on this week, that I couldn't find a spare moment to write about it all. We had our "very last Monday together before school started" to do fun things on, our last Tuesday before school started to do even more fun things and then school started on Wednesday. See excited boy(s) below before heading off to First Grade! I cannot believe that P. is in first grade now. Where has our time gone?
We are so fortunate to have a beautiful and nurturing Waldorf School in our community. It makes the emotional roller coaster that I have been on over growing boys and fleeting time lately much easier to bear. I know that P. is in a place where he can stretch and grow and express himself with the time and space and guidance that he needs. He told me, among many other things, that he had "the best first day of school ever"--which made this Mama quite happy. It certainly helps, too, that he has a magical first grade teacher. We often tease P. that he is so lucky that he gets to go to school at Hogwarts! He has been listening to us read the first Harry Potter book over the last week, and we have found many parallels to his own adventures in starting grade school.
We are all really looking forward to this school year's fun and adventures. Now, I just have to get through taking G. to preschool for the first time on Monday. That might be even more tricky to handle. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, we are hoping for a relaxing, treehouse-filled weekend. It's almost finished--and I am sure to have some progress to report next week.
Wishing you have a lovely, leisurely weekend...
